Log entry fields

A log entry may need details specific to your work: an intervention reference, affected equipment or a request type. Custom fields collect that information separately from the report’s text.

You need permission to manage log fields.

Create additional information

  1. Open Settings → Log → Fields.
  2. In the Fields tab, select Add a field.
  3. Enter “Intervention reference” in Label and choose Type → Text.
  4. Add help text if the expected format needs explaining.
  5. Choose the visibility and required-entry defaults, then select Create field.

To offer predefined answers, prepare a choice list and select that field type.

Choose fields for an event

The Field sets tab lets you prepare a named configuration. Select New field set, give it a name, then select Save.

Add a field using the button with its name, then adjust Shown and Required. These changes save immediately.

Open the event template or event settings, then Event log. Choose the set under Field sets and select Save.

The Field sets selector appears after at least one set has been created for this module. If you cannot see it, check that the set was saved in the organisation settings.

If no other set is chosen, Default applies. In another set, leaving a field out does not hide it: it follows its definition’s defaults. Add it and turn off Shown to hide it in that set. Hiding a field does not delete values already entered.

Check data entry

Start a log entry in an event using this set. Check that the reference is offered and only essential information is required.

These fields do not replace criticality, which expresses the entry’s severity. To stop using a field while keeping its values, use Archive in its settings.
