Event fields
A field is a piece of information to fill in: an artist’s name, expected attendance or an audience type, for example. Define fields in the organisation, then use them on your events.
You need permission to manage event fields. For a Choice list field, prepare its values first.
Add a piece of information
- Open Settings → Event → Fields.
- Select Add a field.
- Enter “Expected attendance” in Label and choose Type → Number.
- If useful, add Help shown under the field, such as “Number of people expected”.
- Keep Shown by default enabled. Enable Required only if this information must be provided during creation.
- Select Create field.
The field appears under Your fields. On a small screen, the editor may appear below the table: scroll down to complete it.

On a computer, the editor stays beside the field list. Example from a fictional organisation; its sample field names are in French.
Choose a type
| Information needed | Type |
|---|---|
| A name or short note | Text |
| Detailed instructions | Long text |
| A quantity | Number |
| A date or time | Date or Time |
| A binary answer | Yes / No |
| A value from a shared vocabulary | Choice list |
| An existing venue, team or other item | Link to an object |
For Link to an object, choose the Target object. Where available, Multiple values lets you select more than one.
Offer a filter in lists makes the field available for filtering. Show in mobile event preview includes it in the event preview on a phone, up to a maximum of three fields.
Check the result
Create an event using Start from scratch: your new field is offered according to its display settings. When using an event template, check the fields configured in that template; it determines what is shown and required during creation.
Hiding a field during creation does not erase existing values. A populated field may remain visible in the record: this setting does not protect confidential information.
Update a field
Select its row, edit the label or help text, then select Save. Changing its type or number of values is refused once values exist.
Archive removes the field from forms and filters while keeping its values. Find it under Archived fields to unarchive it. Delete also erases values; the confirmation tells you how many items are affected.
